The rise and rise of Eva Goodisson now has a major piece of silverware attached.
The Gold Coast-based 27-year-old has been named Tri NZ Female Short Course Triathlete of the Year for the first time. She joins Hayden Wilde as the recipients of the top short course awards in the annual Tri NZ Triathlete of the Year Awards with Cantabrians Brea Roderick and Henry McMecking taking out the 23 gongs.
Goodisson, nominated alongside Nicole van der Kaay and Roderick for the top award, enjoyed a breakout year at the top level. She rattled off WTCS best performances of 23rd at Alghero and Wollongong (the season finale) and also raced for Team NZL in the World Triathlon Mixed Relay Championships in Hamburg.

The Hawke’s Bay star was the top Kiwi in the Oceania Sprint Championships at Napier in February and won Continental Championship bronze at April’s Oceania SuperSprint Championships on the Gold Coast in the final event of the award qualification window.
Congratulations to all the award winners revealed across the week.
