Top-flight triathlon returns to Auckland for the first time since 2017 on March 29. And now we know exactly where you’ll race as part of the inaugural Auckland Triathlon Festival.
SBR-Tri.com can exclusively reveal the day-long festival, incorporating the Oceania Triathlon Para Championships and an elite able-bodied Oceania Triathlon Cup, will take over Base Spaces – aka Silo Park.
The real bonus? Age-groupers will race on the same course as the Paratriathletes and Elites, showcasing the sport in the heart of Wynyard Quarter in spectacular fashion.
Here’s the schedule of racing:

Auckland last staged a World Triathlon-sanctioned event in April 2017 – the Auckland World Masters Games. Before that, a run of 12 high profile events in the City of Sails, including the 2012 World Triathlon Grand Final, came to an end in 2015.
The Auckland Triathlon Festival brings top-flight racing back to the heart of New Zealand’s biggest city. The impetus for that was Tri NZ securing hosting rights to the Oceania Para Champs for the first time.
The bonus for age groupers is the chance to race the same course as their heroes and then shout them on against the Aussies in the Para and Elite racing.
Entries are open now with so consider this your Auckland Triathlon Festival startline.
The entry fee is just $104.21 (until late fees kick in March 15) which we think is awesome value for a race in downtown Auckland and the elite entertainment to follow.
