Triathlon New Zealand is excited to unveil its new monthly, mobile-first digital title, Swim Bike Run.
In today’s increasingly fast-paced world, we’re aware a place in your already crowded digital routine is hard earned and easily lost. By producing the world’s first ‘made-for-mobile’ tri mag, we hope to become your trusted pocket or purse companion to all things ‘SBR’, wherever you go and well into the future.
‘Tomorrow’s Triathlon’ was deliberately chosen as the theme for the launch edition of Swim Bike Run. Before you tuck into the future, some background into to the transformation of Tri NZ’s digital publication.
We were truly humbled by the feedback to SBR’s predecessor, the now retired Triathlon Quarterly. Like you though, we couldn’t ignore the clunkiness of TQ’s flipping book platform – especially when read on mobile, today’s primary window to the world.
With so much positive triathlon news emanating from New Zealand and around the triathlon world, it also became quickly apparent that a quarterly wasn’t going to cut the mustard either. Your passion deserves more easily digestible content with greater frequency. With that, Swim Bike Run had its genesis.
We trust you’ll enjoy the smoother reading experience. SBR remains FREE but there’s no downloading of software or Apps and no more pinching and chasing stories around your favourite screen. Just click in, read and succeed.
While Swim Bike Run is made for mobile, it still adapts seamlessly on desktop and tablet.
Inside you’ll find a contemporary take on traditional magazine content. There’s still the news and views, profiles and performance advice you loved in TQ. But we have, and will continue to, refine the ways we inspire and entertain by packaging our content so you can squeeze in a cheeky SBR fix in the office or on the go. We hope you’ll come back for more after training too given the ease of navigation. SBR is triathlon at your fingertips.
We’re particularly thrilled to change up traditional triathlon instruction by commissioning Tri NZ High Performance squad member and Ironman 70.3 world championships qualifier Hannah Knighton as a Contributing Editor of ‘Personal Best’.
We see our new athlete-led instruction section as a real win-win. You get expert tips and advice for all ages, stages and distances of triathlon, while one of the sport’s young guns gets a platform to build their brand. With your support, it’s just the beginning of our plans to grow Swim Bike Run and the profile of the sport’s brightest stars.
As you’ve discovered, SBR-Tri.com is clearly the web companion to Swim Bike Run. We humbly seek your patience as our tiny editorial team builds out (and tidies up) the website to bring you even more content.
Our promise is even more SBR goodness in the fullness of time. Combined with Swim Bike Run magazine, our community-focused Tribe newsletter out every other Friday, the event entry and resource rich Triathlon.kiwi, you’ll be connected with every level of the sport like never before.
Without further ado, enjoy Swim Bike Run.
