š«š·Tayler Reid has quiet title ambitions, Eva Goodisson redemption on her mind. The Supertri season VI finale will be all the richer for the sprinkling of determined Kiwi stardust.
Csongor Lehmann (Stars & Stripes) is in pole position for the men’s title after victory in Jersey to go with his second in Chicago. The Hungarian has Portugal’s Vasco VilaƧa (Crown Racing) nipping at his heels, the pair favoured to battle for the crown with Alberto Gonzalez Garcia out injured and John Reed three points further back than VilaƧa.

All the while, Reid (Podium Racing) will look to launch a title ambush in the early hours of Monday (NZ Time). Mathematically it’s still possible though the Kiwi battler will need to score seven more points than Lehmann and five more points than VilaƧa. That would likely mean winning the race with Lehmann finishing 5th or worse and VilaƧa 4th or worse.
All Reid can do is trigger that trademark fight and capitalise on the form he showed in Jersey where he was well placed for a medal before a last gasp bike crash.
“…positively the strongest I have felt racing this year, going blow for blow with the best in world, on the downside tasting the pavement on the final round cost me the fight for the silverware,” Reid wrote on social.
“Another great weekend for @the_podium_racing extending our lead in the overall team series. Onto the @supertri_ final in Toulouse. The form is there… just need to stay focused š«”š¤”

For Goodisson (Brownlee Racing), Toulouse represents a chance to atone for lessons learned in her Supertri debut in Chicago.
“Found out what everyone means when they say @supertri_ is the hardest racing youāll do š„µ š„š§ØAn awesome opportunity to race this format yesterday for @brownlee.racing and work on the short sharp skills [those bike corners were gnarly],” Goodisson said after Chicago.
“Unfortunately you have to be 100% racing this series so coming off two weeks of the flu I just didnāt quite have that extra percent to fire up and was eliminated half way in round 2.
“ā Body is recovering and Iām excited to give super tri another crack in Toulouse šā¤ļø.”
